Spread a little love...

These days it seems that cream, beige, eggshell and magnolia are the most popular choices for wall colours and carpets as such is deemed to brighten up a home and give it a fresh feeling. However, such can feel a little bland and, often, uninviting. Everybody wants to make their house a home but its hard to know where to start when your entire apartment/house is a blank canvas. This is even more difficult when you are a tenant rather than a property owner as there is little you can do about the walls and choice of flooring. So, how do you give your home a personal touch without redecorating? The answer? It's all in the accessories. So, lets start with the heart of the home- the kitchen. As a tenant there isn't much you can do about the owners choice of kitchen units. However, you can inject your own colour scheme with matching appliances and accessories throughout. You can also make the most of the bare walls and put up a few matching pieces. One of our hanging heart photo frame pieces would work perfectly here. On to the living room- your couches, are they second hand? Yours and the the rest of the worlds. It is not uncommon for us to inherit furniture along the way, especially as a first time renter. The problem? Sometimes the pieces that have been given to us are not, shall we, to our taste? This is where carefully placed throws and our vintage print cushions come in. By accessorising your couch you give yourself the opportunity to personalise the theme in this room. You may also want to invest in some bean bags or a love seat to go with your inherited couch to really spice up your living area. A bedroom is perhaps the most personal space of all- this is where you can really go to town on the photos and wall hangings. Perhaps you are able to put up some shelving? This will then allow you the opportunity to create your own personal display piece- photos, candles, personal affects- these can all be put up here. Perhaps, after all this has been done, you feel the need to take this love outside. If so, you may want to consider the hanging heart tea light holder. Such will add a cosy theme to your very own outdoor space and ensure that your personality has been stamped all over your home- inside and out.
